ARNE VODDER MODEL 29A TEAK SIDEBOARD

£3,000.00

Large Mid-Century 1950’s Arne Vodder Model 29a teak sideboard for Sibast Møbler

This iconic sideboard in teak is designed by the Danish designer Arne Vodder. The typical refined Vodder details can be found on this sideboard such as the characteristic drawers and the eye-shaped handles. Highly versatile item with plenty of storage space.

Arne Vodder (1926-2009) should be counted among the most influential Scandinavian Mid-Century designers, although he is not as well known as for instance Hans Wegner or Arne Jacobson. Once a student to famous furniture designer Finn Juhl, who later became his friend and business partner, Vodder started out as an architect who designed low-cost housing, later on he began designing furniture.

Although his designs are anything but low-quality, his aim for functional design that could be used by all remained important. He designed amongst others for Fritz Hansen & Sibast.

A striking decorative piece as equally stylish as it is functional.

Please note the historic burn marks to the surface of the sideboard as well as a number of age related scratches, markings and surface loss. Please see the photos for a detailed view of the aforementioned defects.

Width 255cm
