A beautifully charming and well executed miniature oil painting produced on a discarded metal pot lid. The scene depicts an idyllic beachscape with a large rocky outcrop and is titled to the reverse ‘Near Weymouth’.
The painting being signed by the artist Frank Shayler. Frank Hearn Shayler (1867–1954) was a Shrewsbury-based architect, and hobbyist artist, who predominantly worked in an Arts and Crafts architectural style throughout Oxfordshire and Wales.
