A striking decorative chest with applied brass and rivet decoration appearing to depict poppies to each corner with a central crest motif to lid.
The chest likely a Colonial piece having strong Zanzibar affiliation in its form and design. There is some loss to the rivet decoration as well as some general age-related cracking and wear to the wood. The key appears original but the lock will need some attention.
